Alice In Chains – Dirt

This is a lesson on How to play “Dirt” by Alice In Chains. Simple, yet very cool song to play. The intro uses A phrygian dominant scale which is quite unusual but very cool sounding riff for alternative rock music. During the Solo we use A minor pentatonic but with some cool phrasing. Here’s the lesson on the Solo from Sunshine by Alice In Chains. Not too complicated, but well suited the song with lots of feeling. Based around D minor pentatonic scale. Also there’s a second guitar in the end of the song using some pentatonic/blues scale.

Alright, here’s a lesson on How to play Sunshine by the Almighty Alice In Chains from their album Facelift. Bluesy Intro hook, followed by a heavy syncopated riff, the chorus is heavy power chords and the bridge is arpeggiated chorus with a twist. Really cool typical rock song of the late 80’s, early 90’s.
